This pen is a rollerball pen and can be refilled with rollerball or gel pen refills in a wide variety of colors—available from any office supply.

It is hand-crafted from Osage Orange wood. The wood is common across the southern United States and is also know as Bodark. You’ve probably noticed it’s green, lumpy fruit in the fall of the year—sometimes called horse apples. Bodark is a variant of Bois d’Arc, which basically means wood that arches or bends. It was used for making strong, durable archery bows by various Native American tribes.
